Interfast is a proud sponsor of the University of Toronto Formula Racing Team (UofT Racing), a not-for-profit organization of students who design and compete with a small open-wheel racecar each year within a student design series, such as the Formula SAE. The students are responsible for not only design, construction and tuning but also for finance, sponsorship, media and logistics, creating a true entrepreneurial learning experience.

With events held all over the world, the Formula SAE is a collegiate design series featuring 500 teams. Created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) challenges university students to take on the assumption that they are a manufacturer developing a prototype racecar to be evaluated for production. Their efforts are assessed at competitions by a jury of experts from the motorsport, automotive and supplier industries.
The U of T team has done quite well over the years, becoming Top Rookie its first year of competition (Formula SAE East - 1999), 1st place Overall in Acceleration and Endurance race (Formula Student UK - 2003), 1st place Overall in Autocross and Endurance races (Formula Student UK - 2005 and again in 2006), Winner of the Most Efficient Vehicle Award and 5th place Overall (Formula SAE East - 2007), and 3rd place in design (Formula Student Germany - 2008).
