Strong demand anticipated from the aviation and oil and gas industries
CALGARY, April 2, 2009 – Interfast Inc, one of the leading global fastener distributors, today announced that it is establishing a distribution facility in Calgary in response to strong demand from the aviation industry. The announcement took place at the Western Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association 2009 annual symposium, where Interfast hosted a lunch and spoke about the importance of using only properly certified fasteners.
“Our team of specialists has been working with Calgary area firms for years and we are delighted to open a regional distribution facility in response to increased business from airlines, manufacturers as well as aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul operations,” says Conrad Lennert, VP Sales & Marketing for Interfast Inc. “We represent a wide range manufacturers and can quickly respond to a wide range of requests, from fasteners, to fittings, to aircraft lighting fixtures. Many customers also appreciate our ability to assist with fastener applications, product design, product standardization and rationalization.”
Lennert notes that the economy also is prompting organizations to look at how they can improve their operational efficiencies, prompting a spike in interest in Interfast’s supply chain management expertise.
“We’re working with a couple of Calgary area firms in this area,” adds Lennert. “We often do process mapping within an organization to analyze information and material flow in order to identify and plan improvements in their supply chain process. People are often surprised at the things we can do and how quickly results can be achieved. That interest, by the way, extends well beyond the aviation industry, into other sectors, such as energy and electronics.”
In addition to Calgary, Interfast has seven other facilities across North America, in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, as well as Miami and Cleveland, Ohio.
