Alcoa Fastening Systems’ legacy, since the 1930’s, has been that of a worldwide industry leader in the development of precision locknuts. Among its many firsts are the all-metal lightweight selflocking nut and the K-Fast™ system for high-speed installation. Alcoa Fastening Systems offers a variety of configurations and materials for virtually any application, in both unified and metric sizes. The parts are manufactured to the most rigorous standards and meet or exceed the requirements of military, industry and customer specifications such as MS, AS, BAC, DIN, EN, NAS, and NSA.
Wrenchable Nuts
Precision-formed wrenchable nuts offer tremendous versatility for design and functional requirements. Wrenching styles include hexagon, double hexagon and twelve spline.
Anchor Nuts
Anchor nuts are especially useful in blind locations, or where an attached nut facilitates maintenance. The nut mounting lugs may be riveted, welded or screwed to the structure. They assure positive positioning of the mating bolt and are self-wrenching.
Gang Channels
Produced in straight or radiused versions, Gang channel nut assemblies are designed for applications that require multiple, equally spaced anchor type nuts. Gang channels enable rapid assembly and disassembly of structure sections.
K-Fast® Nuts
K-Fast® nuts are high strength, vibration-resistant, self-locking fasteners that offer fast, reliable and repetitive installations with K-Fast® tooling. Many lightweight designs are available, and features include self- sealing; self- aligning; and a counterbore that accommodates variations in structure thickness and oversize repair fasteners. The K-Fast® nuts can be spindled for use in automatic tools.
Clinch and Stake Nuts
These nut types are ideal for sheet metal applications where an anchor nut can not be used due to size and mounting options. The Clinch and Stake nuts allow for blind applications and are pressed in to the sheet material allowing cold flow which keeps the nut in place.
Bearing Nuts
Bearing (also referred to as shaft nuts) locknuts provide a positive rotational lock on rotating bearing shafts. They provide resistance against vibration and are also used when precise torque settings are needed. These nuts use a thin round nut in combination with a tab-lock washer and can be self-locking or non-locking. The nut is tightened by use of the external slots.
Other Products
Here is a selection of products that fall outside of the usual product descriptions, such as Barrel nuts; high strength (up to 240 KSI) used in locations where wrenching space is not available for regular nuts and are excellent for tension applications.
